We build exceptional custom homes. Working through the entire process, from concept to completion, our team will work directly with you to ensure no detail is spared, keeping you at ease throughout the entire build.

New Construction

We are custom home builders so we spend a lot of time working in New Construction. We have been building homes for over 20 years and have all the knowledge and experience to get your new home built and make the process fun and stress-free.

Remodels

We also offer remodeling services in addition to our new construction. Whether it is a kitchen remodel or an entire addition, we have the tools and skills for most any job.

General Contracting

In addition to our building skills, we are your one-stop shop to have a hands on General Contractor that is a part of the day to day operations. From start to finish we are working on hand at the jobsite and available to our customers anytime. We pride ourselves in being a contractor that knows the building process inside and out.

Room Additions

If you love the house you are in, but just need to add a little more space, we can help. With all the tools to build a house from start to finish, room additions are no problem. We can assist in the design process and can give you the house of your dreams without having to move!

Custom Shops

We have extensive knowledge and experience in building one of a kind shops and man caves. We can customize your shop to fit your exact needs. Whether you need it to run your business, or just a place to gather with friends, we can help get you with anything you can come up with.

OUR FAMILY

JOHN STEBRAL

John Stebral, President of Stebral Construction, is a second generation builder who runs the family business side-by-side with his brother Terry. John was born and raised in Iowa City. He attended Solon High School and from there attended Iowa State University for Biology. In 1995 he returned to Iowa City to take over the family construction business. As a master builder, John has been building homes for over 20 years and has significant experience in all facets of custom home building. From framing to excavating, cement work to roofing, John is one of the last general contractors in the area to be on site working and offer a complete construction. He has a passion for quality craftsmanship and is committed to customer service and high quality custom homes.

Since family roots are what runs Stebral Construction, he is assisted by his wife Lori and their two wonderful children Ava (12) and Garett (9). John has an incredibly outgoing personality which makes working with him enjoyable and fun. He also prides himself on being a valuable member of the community and coaches youth sports in his free time.

TERRY STEBRAL

Terry Stebral, President of Stebral Construction, Inc, was born and raised in Iowa City. He graduated from Solon High School in 1989 and then from Kirkwood Community College where he studied Construction Technology. Terry notes that his knowledge, experience and everything he has learned about the homebuilding business comes from his dad, Jim Stebral, long-time area homebuilder. Terry worked alongside his dad through high school and college up until the time he took over as owner and President of Stebral Construction, Inc.. The homebuilding trade has always been a part of who he is.

Terry’s passion has always consisted of building custom projects with his own hands, working with homeowners, and creating new relationships along the way by giving the homeowner the best possible house they can dream of having. Terry enjoys making it a fun learning experience for the homeowner by taking them through a step-by-step journey, guiding them through the homebuilding process.

Terry believes that their reputation is valued because of the hard-working and dependable employees that work for them. Terry can’t say enough about his employees and is proud of the work they do each and every day. They help make the company run smooth.

Terry married his wife Laurie in October of 1996. They reside on the family farm with their two children, Lexi (17) and Trey (14). Terry enjoys spending time with his family, watching Lexi play softball and basketball and watching Trey play football and basketball. He also enjoys hunting and fishing with his family in their free time.

Terry and John are Master Builders with over 20 years of experience in every facet of the building process. They are one of the last contractors to provide complete construction. They provide the framing, excavation, cement work, siding, roofing, grading and finish work. They are a complete package, something few others can boast.
